About Us
Smith Dray Line was founded in 1911 in Greenville, SC. The word “Dray” comes from the dray horses and wagons we used when the business first opened it doors at the beginning of the 20th century. Over the years we added offices in Spartanburg, Columbia, Rock Hill and Charleston, South Carolina and Asheville, North Carolina. We operate full service moving and storage offices in all of our locations and we are a stock holding agent for United Van Lines. We also own intrastate operating authority for the states of South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.
Smith Dray Line has more than 80 over the road vehicles. All of are Van Operators, Packers and Loaders submit to a strict random drug testing program as well as comprehensive background checks. Our salespeople have an average tenure of 12 years in the industry and are equipped to provide you with a printed estimate in your home. Each Salesperson is teamed with a specific Move Coordinator who will act as your one-point-of-contact once you book your move with us.
